Overview

It's time to take everything you've learned at FuelFilm (and hopefully a lot of what you've learned on your own) and put it to work. All filmmakers, producers, directors and deal makers in the making are invited to enter FuelFilm:Memphis' "Show Me The Money" funding competition and investor forum for a chance to win a $5,000 production package.*

ATTENTION - ENTRY DEADLINE EXTENDED TO OCTOBER 20TH Deadline for registration and material submission for competition is Midnight - October 20th with the investor forum and pitch competition taking place on October 23rd at the Circuit Playhouse (66 S. Cooper) in Midtown. The Winner will be announced during the FuelFilm sponsored Indie Memphis Happy Hour 5PM at Studio On The Square. How It All Works

All entrants must register at fuelfilmfunding.eventbrite.com.

ROUND ONE: SUBMIT YOUR PACKAGE**
Once registered each producer/director/filmmaker must submit a "Package" to

showmethemoney(at)fuelfilm.org

for review by the fuel film team. Each package should
include these minimum elements:
Title
Executive Summary (touches on everything below.)
Synopsis (what's the movie about.)
Market Analysis (Who is it for, why will they want to see it.)
Path to Profit (How will it make money.)
Budget (Estimated, preliminary or detailed - depending on the stage your project is in .)
Schedule (Rough to Detailed.)
Team Bios (Who is making the picture, experience, talent attached?)
Script or Treatment (Please send as separate document - we will accept entrants that have rights to an existing property or plan to hire a screenwriter as part of the plan, but please note that all things being equal we will likely favor a filmmaker with a treatment or screenplay.)

The top 10 packages will go on to...

ROUND TWO: INVESTOR SPEED PITCH ROUND - OCTOBER 23rd at 2PM
The 10 semifinalists will pitch to multiple investors in a one on one "Speed Dating" circuit. Each semifinalist will get 5 minutes with each investor - and each investor will rate each pitch.

Once the votes are tallied the 5 highest scoring contestants will go on to...

ROUND THREE: LIVE PITCH COMPETITION - Same Day OCTOBER 23rd at 3:30
Our five finalists will pitch in front of a live audience and separate panel of judges who will vote to select the GRAND PRIZE WINNER!

What can we WIN?*

The Financing Package includes $1,500 cash budget for production expenses, $1,000 in camera rental from AC Inc. Nashville (shipping not included), Two Days of Grip/Lighting Truck Rental from FireFly Grip & Electric (worth $1,200 - gas and discounted driver/grip fee not included), $500 Sound Equipment Rental from Nolan AV and $1,000 in editing or DVD Mastering from TVII Multimedia.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO ENTER?
The Entry Fee is $25 - payable when you register here.
(Includes Refreshments at the event)

CAN WE ENTER AS A TEAM?
Yes, no more than three to a pitch team - team entry fee is $35.

WHAT FORMAT DO WE SUBMIT THE PACKAGE IN?
Word Doc or DocX, PDF or Powerpoint will work. Don't include the Script or Treatment in the Package document, but make those a separate attachment. Please don't send "heavy" supporting materials via email (like MOV files and large images.) If you have such, send us a link for viewing.

WHERE DO I SEND IT AGAIN?

WHAT IF WE DON'T MAKE IT TO ROUND TWO?
We still want you to come for round three, see the top 5 pitches - and STILL get a chance to mingle with and meet our investors.

WILL FUEL GIVE ME THE CONTACT INFO FOR THE INVESTORS?
No, FuelFilm:Memphis doesn't and wont speak for our investors. The connections you make with them are up to you and there is no guarantee that they will be interested in investing in any of the contestants films. We will supply all our investors with copies of each of the top 10 packages, but if an investor seems interested in your film and sparks are flying, make sure you exchange information and FOLLOW UP.

WHAT CAN or SHOULD I USE THE PACKAGE FOR IF I WIN?
Ok, we know you probably can't make a feature in a weekend with 5K - but here's what you CAN do...

A. Keep it in your back pocket for when you get the rest of the funding and use it then.

B. Make a mock trailer to show to potential investors and distributors.

C. Make a "Calling Card" short to show your mad skilz.

D. Shoot a scene from your script to put as part of your package.

Can I just blow the CASH portion of the prize on a trip to Tunica to win the rest of my budget?
No, Sorry - the cash portion has to be used for production expenses (gas for the grip truck, or props or equipment or makeup or other stuff...yeah, no blank check.

THE FUEL FILM PEOPLE ARE FILMMAKERS TOO, ARE THEY COMPETING AGAINST ME...THAT'S NOT FAIR?
Wait, was that a statement or a question - and what's with your punctuation? Look, the FuelFilm people are sitting this one out, as in addition to putting on the event we will be acting as judges for parts of the competition. Conflict of interest and all, you know. We'd hate to have to recluse ourselves.
